Permits

Does the LMRWMO Require Permits?

No, the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization (LMRWMO) does not implement a regulatory or permitting program for water resource related permits.

The LMRWMO has the ability to create and enforce rules and regulations surrounding water resources, however, it chooses not to exercise that authority. All permits for water resources, erosion control, and stormwater within the LMRWMO are handled by the individual member Cities where the project is located.

Below are links to regulatory information for the seven LMRWMO member Cities.

There are also State and local regulatory processes that must be followed. Depending upon the type of project and the location further permits may be needed from Minnesota Department of Natural Resources or Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
